Why should I hire a professional mover?

Hiring a professional mover provides vaue on a day that can be otherwise very stressful. Moving can be both emotionally and physically draining, and handling delicate or bulky items with care requires specific moving skills. We highly recommend turning to professionals such as All Pro Moving for this just as you would for plumbing or electrical needs in your home.


How can I keep costs down during my move?

Keep in mind that moving is not an exact science and that each move is different. But, a good way to keep costs down is to be as prepared as possible for when the movers arrive to cut down on using any unnecessary time. Moving boxes is one of the most time consuming areas of a move, yet are some of the lightest things to move. So, try to use the same size boxes and be sure they are taped up and labeled correctly for the movers. Stack them up, so the movers can place them on the dolly and go. Also, while the movers will be happy to do so, disassembly of furniture takes up time as well. You can try to disassemble any beds, desks, etc. to cut down on time. In short anything that you can do yourself or anything that can help the movers move faster will cut down on your cost.


Should I tip my movers?

As with other service industries, you may wish to thank your movers for doing a great job. While the movers do not expect a tip we suggest a tip based on your satisfaction with your crew and the overall move.

How far in advance should I schedule my move?

We recommend scheduling your move as far in advance as you can. The farther out you can plan your move, the greater the availability you will have in choosing a date and time that is convenient for you. We would like to see a minimum of two weeks advance notice, however, we realize advance planning is not always possible and we will do our best to accommodate last minute customers as well.


I want to do some packing and moving before the movers arrive. What areas would be most helpful?

Focus on packing, instead of moving. Smaller items and moving boxes can be moved quickly by our moving staff.


What can I do to ensure that my things end up in the correct room during the move?

Choose a simple labeling system and make sure that all of your boxes are clearly marked. Boxes should be labeled on the top and 3 sides. Your movers will work closely with you to make sure everything ends up where you want it.

Can I leave clothing in my dresser drawers?

You can leave your clothing in your dresser drawers during the move. Be sure to remove anything from the drawers that may roll around or shift while moving. If the dresser is large it is best to partially empty it.


What do I need to do to move my appliances?

You should make sure your dishwasher, microwave, refrigerator, washing machine and dryer are empty. In addition, movers are not trained electricians or plumbers, so you need to arrange for a professional to disconnect your washer, lighting/chandeliers, and refrigerator from any electric and/or water connection.


Are there any items that you cannot move?

We can not move hazardous or combustible items such as propane tanks, firearms, paint and aerosols because the temperature in the truck could cause these items to explode or ignite.

Can the movers arrange furniture the way I want it?

Absolutely. When we deliver your items to your new home the movers will work with you to make sure all furniture and boxes arrive in the correct rooms, and we are happy to arrange furniture exactly as you would like it.


I have a few things that need extra care. How can I guarantee this?

For your own peace of mind, you may want to consider moving jewelry and other small valuables yourself in your personal vehicle. As for larger items such as art, antiques, musical instruments, special collections or other items of great personal meaning and value make sure to show these items to your moving team so that they can take extra precaution.


Is it possible to move during bad weather?

Yes. Our professional movers and moving trucks are prepared to move during rain, sleet or snow although on occasions it may be unsafe. They come equipped with supplies to keep your belongings safe from the elements. However, we recommend that you shovel, rake, etc. to clear the access ways ahead of time.
